Day 1 Letaba Ranch Game Reserve

Letaba Ranch, an unfenced extension of Kruger National Park, and a Big 5 game reserve. The probability is that you will pass a breeding herd of Elephant on your way to Mtomeni camp, the first overnight stay on your wilderness safari.From the deck of your en-suite tent overlooking the Letaba river you are likely to see hippo wallowing in the deeper pools and a variety of buck drinking from the riverbank.

Accommodation: Ntomeni Camp is suited for the more experienced traveller. It is named after the magnificent jackal berry trees which grace this spot and which shade the lapa area in front of the kitchen, is situated on the bank of the Groot Letaba River. Each of the sleeping tents has an excellent view on the river, which harbors a vibrant population of hippos which can be heard daily in the camp.


Day 2 Letaba Ranch Game Reserve

leave camp in the company of an armed game ranger. Experience the thrill of being on foot amongst the fauna and flora that abounds in this secluded wilderness area. Return to camp for a hearty brunch and relax under the canopy of trees as you are entertained by the myriad of birdlife. A late afternoon game drive with the likelihood of encountering buffalo, sundowners at a waterhole with its crocs and hippo, and an evening drive back to camp looking-out for predators as they roam their territory, rounds off the day in this true African bushveld.

 

Day 3 Baleni Cultural Village

Depart after breakfast and travel through remote African countryside en-route to Baleni Cultural Village

where you will spend the night in a comfortable traditional bungalow. Enjoy a guided walk to the reeded warm spring where the Community pays tribute to their ancestors. Then, weather permitting, visit the site where local women, poring over their smokey fires, follow ancient traditional methods of salt-making. Return to the village for a light lunch and a relaxing afternoon before the evening festivities begin – dinner, traditional dancing and singing. You have the possability to overnight in the village.

 

Day 4 Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park

Early breakfast and then depart with your guide by road for Kruger National Park. Enjoy a game

drive, with a stop at Letaba rest-camp for an early lunch, before continuing to Giriyondo border post, entry point to the previously inaccessible Moçambique sector of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Your game drive continues to the intimate Machampane Camp tucked away in a riverine forest, your home for the next three nights. Once you’ve settled into your comfortably appointed en-suite tent, enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the firelight of the boma.

You set out on foot on early morning and late afternoon game walks embracing the waterholes in this pristine wilderness area. Day 5 - 6 Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park

your guide and armed game ranger to explore this pristine Big 5 wilderness area where much of the relocated game from Kruger National Park has been released. Stop for a rest and snack at a waterhole or observation point before meandering through the wilderness back to camp for brunch. Enjoy a siesta, or laze on the deck of your tent in this birder’s paradise before setting out on an afternoon walk. Return to camp in anticipation of a well earned drink and dinner, relaxing around the friendly fire and listening to the welcoming sound of the tree frogs.

 

Day 7 Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park

Depart Machampane camp after an early breakfast on a game drive, returning through Kruger National Park in time for the mid-day flight from Phalaborwa.
